Vin is frequently asked numerous questions about Indian/Asian bridal or party hair and makeup.

What information do I need to provide to make a hair and makeup booking?
- Type of booking – i.e. bridal, engagement or party hair and makeup

Do makeup artists charge for travel to bookings?
There is no travel charge for hair and makeup services in or around East London and Ilford. There will be a travel charge for other bookings outside this area.
Do you need to pay a deposit for hair and makeup services?
Vin will require a small deposit to secure your booking, with the remainder of the payment made on the day of the booking. This ensures availability for the client’s event, and compensates for any last-minute cancellations or no-shows. The exact deposit amount and payment schedule will be outlined in the booking contract.
How do you prepare your hair and skin for makeup?
Vin recommends that clients prep their skin by cleansing, toning, moisturising, and applying eye cream before she arrives. It’s also best to wash your hair the day before the event instead of on the same day, as freshly washed hair can be difficult to style.
What should you do on the day of your hair and makeup booking?
Ensure there is a clear and uninterrupted space that Vin can work in. Vin will need access to a chair, mirror and plug points. Getting ready where there is the most natural light is preferred.
Why is there a difference in price?
The difference in price arises due to a few factors. With engagement, bridal and reception hair and makeup – the process of both the hair and makeup takes significantly longer compared to a party hair and makeup booking. There are also more steps involved with both the hair and makeup to ensure it is at a bridal standard! Every detail is checked over to ensure everything looks perfect for your photos.
What products do you use for hair and makeup?
Vin only uses the best makeup products (including Mac, Nars, Charlotte Tilbury, Huda), and has a range of shades to ensure everyone is catered for. Vin is also skilled in applying makeup on different textured skin.
There is no travel charge for in or around East London and Ilford. There will be a travel charge for other bookings outside this area. If the booking is very early, a hotel overnight stay will need to be booked for the night before, or an early call out fee will be applied.
Do you do destination weddings?
Yes, I am happy to travel abroad. All flights, hotel stays, airport taxis and parking will also need to be covered alongside the cost of the booking.
How much time do you need?
- Asian bridal hair and makeup is approximately 3 hours
- Engagement hair and makeup is approximately 2 hours
- Party hair and makeup is 1.5 hours
- Individual hair or makeup is approximately 45 mins
Do you travel out for just hair bookings?
Unfortunately I don’t travel out for just hair bookings or individual hair bookings. The bookings have to be in conjunction with a makeup booking.
Vin would love to take your pictures at the end of the booking for social media use! If you prefer to opt out of this for confidentiality reasons – this will of course be respected.
